CWM currently operate four Household Waste Recycling Centres within the County. Civic Amenity Site’s are paid for by the house holders of the County by way of domestic rates. Our Recycling Operatives greet householders in a polite manner and advise them with regard to their waste and how best to segregate it and to maximize recycling.

What can be Recycled?
Household Waste Recycling Centres offer a wide range of facilities for recycling. We have trained Recycling Operatives who are at each of our sites to ‘meet and greet’ you. They can advise you on the different recycling materials but where possible please try to sort through your recycling items before you come to the Sites. Remember…

The following items are accepted at all sites but attract a small charge:



Guidance

Asbestos

Carmarthenshire householders are entitled to dispose of 3 double wrapped black bags of asbestos per year. Additional disposal will be charged. All asbestos disposal is recorded and proof of address is required with each visit to the C A Site

Gas Bottles

Gas bottles are accepted for a small charge. They are collected for reuse where possible.

Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers are accepted for a small charge. They are collected for reuse where possible

Tyres

Tyres may be disposed at all sites for a small charge. They are collected for reuse

Household Waste Recycling Centres are managed for householders in Carmarthenshire. Height barriers have been introduced at all sites to control inappropriate disposal. It is recognized that it may be necessary for householders to transport unwanted items in vehicles that exceed the height restrictions. To meet this need height barriers are raised as detailed below:

Through monitoring and controlling disposal at HWRC’s we are able to provide a service which ensures you do not pay inappropriate household rates for waste disposal. Part of our monitoring procedures may include you being requested to complete a ‘Disclaimer’ form. Disclaimer-june-2009.doc (insert link to disclaimer form). You will be required to provide two proofs of identification.
